The IIT OTDRs were tested at the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology and found to conform to the IEC 60825-1 International Standards on Safety of Laser Products. The IIT specialists arranged consultations on the equipment technical specifications and use.

International Exhibition 'Svyaz-Expokomm'
The IIT presented the manufactured measurement equipment for fiber optic transmission lines at the 16th Annual International Exhibition "Svyaz-Expokomm", which was held on May 11th - May 14th, 2004, Moscow /the Exhibition Complex "Expo-Center" in Krasnaya Presnya/. The Fiber Test Monitoring System, the VL-5 Locator-Reflectometer, the OR-2-2 OTDR, the OT-2-5 and OT-2-6 Testers, the PU-2 Talk Set were showcased on a specially installed test-line. The IIT specialists arranged consultations on the equipment technical specifications and use.

A new electrical module for the OR-2-2 OTDR is developed. It allows you to perform measurements of electrical lines' parameters. The electrical module support is introduced in the OR-2-2 OTDR software.

The development of a new model of PU-2 Talk Set is completed. It is introduced into industry. PU-2 enables duplex communication over a single fiber at the distance of 200 km.

'IIT' has passes the procedure of quality system functioning evaluation according to National and German (TGA) certification system. The design and production quality system of measurement tools for fiber-optic telecommunication ISO-9001 confirmation certificates are received.

The development of the new generation of OT-2-5, OT-2-6 optical testers has been completed. The devices modern design and expanded set of service functions.
2002 April
The development of a new model of ID-2-2 singlemode optical fibers chromatic dispersion measurement set has been completed. The device consist of two separate modules - receiver and transmitter, it allows using the device for measuring chromatic dispersion on the installed communication lines with total attenuation up to 36 dB.

The development of a new model of OR-2-2 optical reflectometer has been completed. The new OTDR passesses an expanded dynamic range and enhanced characteristics in dead zones .

The development of a new model of multichannel OT-2-4 Optical Tester is completed at the enterprise. The device provides the measurement of power levels, measurement of increase attenuation and calculation the measurement of kilometer attenuation simultaneously in 16 optical channels.
2001 December
The IIT representatives took part in the work of the International Scientific and Technical Conference 'Contemporary condition and prospects of fiber optic application', passed in December 6-7 in Kiev. The following reports were made by our participants: 'Method realization of a phase shift for measurement of the time of distribution a signal in an optical fiber'; 'Development of devices for optical cable damages detection'. Withing the framework of certification procedure the State testing of Optical Testers of OT-2 series are completed.
