OG-2-1 Optical Generator
The OG-2-1 is designed for calibration of all types of OTDRs by the external source method (IEC 61746).

The OG-2-1 reproduces time intervals and optical signal levels.

The operating principle is based on generating optical pulses with a given width and delay in response to a pulse, generated by OTDR.

The generator pulse amplitude is regulated by built-in attenuators. Its change is measured by a built-in optical receiver with high accuracy.

Therefore the OG-2-1 allows determining distance and attenuation accuracy of the verified OTDR.

With the OG-2-1 and optical fiber of several kilometers length the verification of any type of OTDR can be performed on the main technical characteristics:
   uncertainty of distance and attenuation measurement;
   dead zone;
   dynamic range.

The OG-2-1 control and data processing are provided by a PC under Windows95/98/NT (software screenshot).
